Addressing this problem through the mediation of the government is very complicated thus, social opinions and cultural concepts must be incorporated to better understand the concern of the issue. Children employment in the city is an issue that involves cultural views and social consideration. It is not merely deciding whether to illegalize it or not just by basing from the decisions and opinions of the political leaders but instead public views must be solicited to determine the technicality and ethicality of this issue. Social perspective, whether ethnocentric or culturally relativistic- should also be considered in evaluating this issue. Child labor and Social Culture Social and cultural perspective are very important in factoring the opinion and views of the society regarding an issue whether they are ethnocentric or culturally relativistic. Ethnocentrism is defined as the view that oneÃ¢â¬â¢s cultureÃ¢â¬â¢s way of doing things is the right and natural way thus discriminating other by regarding them as barbaric and inferior than them. On the other hand, cultural relativism is the attitude that other ways of doing things are different but equally valid thus this behavior tries to understand the others in cultural context. Through conducting survey and soliciting public opinions, it was determined that most of society view the issue of child labor as a matter of necessity, which also makes it as a valid employment matter and not a matter of child abuse. It has been determined that this society is more culturally relativistic regarding this attitude thus most of them try to justify the dilemma of child labor. According to public opinion, child labor is being regarded as a means for children to help their family regarding financial issues. In addition, this labor contribution is needed on accounts of family business and income generation. In addition, a mean of acquiring personal work experiences and skills is viewed as essential to future employment challenges. Due to this social perception and cultural attitude, child labor becomes a socially acceptable means of employment in the society. Since the society view this issue as a valid matter and not an abusive and discriminating one, government action should move in accordance to this opinion. Thus, government actions and policies should be made in accordance to this assumption so that the society could relate to it. The best course of action to be initialize regarding this issue is to make policies and amendment protecting the safety and work conditions of children regarding their employment. Conclusion Public opinion is very much vital in the movements and actions of the government. Social perspective should be considered as the eye of the government in viewing certain social and cultural dilemma. Social discretion and cultural behavior should considered in making course of actions government actions are intended for the betterment of the society. Thus, social opinion and cultural behavior are the factor in determining the ethicality and validity of a cultural issue whether it will be socially accepted or denied.

Theatre review Essay The lighting for most of the play was moderately bright with foot lights lighting the stage, and several overhead lights as well. The exception was Petruchios house, which was quite dim to show how different it was from what Kate was used to, and showing how miserable she was. Most scenes were broadly lit instead of using spotlights to highlight individual characters, which I was quite surprised about, One exception was outside the tavern where the men were celebrating Biancas engagement, when a spotlight was used to show the merchant pretending to be Lucentios father looking out from a window. Lighting was s also used for several special effects. One example was the storm outside Petruchios house, which was very effective, and also an amazing contrast compared to the scene with Bianca in the garden, which had a completely different mood that was well conveyed by the lighting used in both scenes. Sound effects were also used to convey the emotions in each scene, though not used abundantly, but were key to the scene, for example, wedding bells for the church scene and thunder and lightening, which was very atmospheric. There was music from the orchestra before the play started, which set the mood, and also put the play in context because it was sort of old fashioned instrumentalist music, which showed that the play was going to be the traditional version instead of a more contemporary updated version. There was also background music sometimes, but nothing too obvious, and only a few bars at a time, with no real impact on the scene except to add to the surroundings, rather than narrate them, so they didnt have any particular tone, i. e. hopeful or sad. The lack of songs seemed strange to me because Ive only previously been used to seeing musicals performed but the cast conveyed the emotions adequately anyway. The costumes in the play were also of a very high quality, even though each character only had one outfit. Nevertheless they showed a lot about the personalities of each role. For example, Bianca wore a pretty yellow dress to show how girly she was, and that she cared about her appearance while Kat wore a rough looking one. Gremios clothes were probably the most affluent, with robes that were trimmed of fur and a lot of gold jewellery, which supported the fact that he was the richest of Biancas suitors, Gremio retired to his moneybags Things like this showed aspects of their personalities. I could tell that clothes were important in those times because they showed who a person was. A case that shows this is when Lucentio swaps clothes with his servant. , so that anyone who saw them would know instantly which one was the master. Ive seen things like this in other performances, for example Les Miserables and often other pre 1900 plays.

The Role of Mexican-American Border Relations in the Political Process Throughout the 1990Ã¢â¬â¢s up until the present, Mexican-American political relations have been very inconsistent in their endeavors to define what the relationship should and will be between the two different countries. The massive influx of Mexican immigrants has commanded attention from the governments of both countries. This has resulted in attempts to make a working partnership acknowledging the fact that the peoples of Mexican decent have grown into the largest minority group in the United States and there are many issues to be hammered out by both countries in establishing just economic and political relations. However this effort has encountered many setbacks and questions of dedication to a working relationship between Mexico and the United States both in the past and currently. Politicians who once jumped on the bandwagon of demonizing Mexican Americans are now fronting to be their closest allies and representatives in order to gain there votes in reelection. Who were once a people solely confined to the lowest of economic class and labor, are slowly working their ways into the higher classes and employment opportunities. Conservative citizens prejudiced attitudes towards Mexicans is balanced out by liberal populations as well. While poor economic times and difficulty in finding employment tend to point fingers at populations like the Mexican immigrants, there is still a need for the cheap labor in the fields and factories to keep production moving.
